  • About Torquay

Torquay is a seaside town in Devon, England, part of the unitary authority area of Torbay. It lies 18 miles south of the county town of Exeter and 28 miles east-north-east of Plymouth. There are lovely towns in the general vicinity such as the neighbouring town of Paignton on the west of the bay and the traditional fishing port of Brixham. There are over eight beaches in Torquay, two being awarded European Blue Flag status. Throughout history much has been made of the theraputic nature of the sea, in regards to a better sense of well being.

Renowned for its healthy climate and attractive coastline, the town earned the nickname of the English Riviera and favourable comparisons to Montpellier.

The English Riviera remains to this day with sparkling white buildings perched on the lush green hilltops, beautiful gardens adorn the seafront and elegant Victorian facades line the main streets. Torquay's famous seven hills provide the backdrop to a waterfront scene that matches anything you'll find on the French Riviera. Feel like you are on holiday, everyday.

  • Food & Drink

Our team of chefs prepare high quality meals using the freshest ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible. The menu is constantly updated and includes traditional menus whilst also offering a variety of new tastes, encouraging residents to sample dishes which they may not have experienced before.

Particular attention is given to the nutritional care and requirements of each resident. We can cater for special and therapeutic diets as advised by specialist staff and as agreed in each resident's care plan.

We think it is important that there is a choice for residents in where they choose to eat. Meals are served in the dining room or taken in the comfort of each resident’s own room. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are freely available at any time. Visitors are welcome to join our residents for meals or to chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

Birthday parties and other celebrated events are extremely important to us and we like to help make it special. Our chefs and catering manager are always delighted to meet, discuss arrangements and to assist in any way they can.

  • Testimonials

Thank you from P. Robson, Daughter of Resident...

I am just writing to say that I cannot praise the staff at Lincombe Manor enough for their care and support during my mum's short time there. My mum was a terminally ill patient for two weeks at the home and the nurses did their absolute best to make sure all her deteriorating health needs were met. All the staff showed a real kindness, understanding and sensitivity towards both myself and my mum. I will always have the knowledge that mum couldn’t have been cared for in a better place with better care and that is something that will always give me comfort.
