GOOD Rating From CQC
11 September 2021
We are delighted to announce an overall GOOD rating with individual GOOD ratings across every area of the home from our most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in August 2021.
CQC undertook an unannounced inspection of the home on 20th August 2021, and the report has come through rating the home GOOD for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The home provides residential and nursing care for up to 55 older people with a range of health needs such as frailty, Parkinson’s disease, stroke injuries and MS.
The report stated:
“People told us they felt safe living at Oak Hall and were happy with the staffing levels in the home.”
“The service had strong person-centred values and placed peoples wellbeing at the heart of their work”.
“Each person had a personalised care plan which reflected their likes and dislikes, their interests, social preferences, and personalities. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests”
Ratings are given based on observations of the home by the unannounced CQC inspector, and on conversations with staff, residents and their relatives. The report is part of CQC's programme of inspections, with all adult social care services being given a rating. Comments from residents used in the report included:
“I only have to call and they [the staff] come.”
“You never go hungry – there is a choice of three meals and if you don't like those, there are another half a dozen you can choose from”
“You couldn't do better than this place. It's wonderful.”
Jane McAuley, General Manager, commented; “We are extremely pleased with this latest CQC report. We have an incredibly caring team who love what they do and always work hard to deliver the greatest level of care for our residents. The report acknowledges the high standards we have across the whole home and genuinely reflects the care our team provides to our residents”.
